World of Warcraft- Playing a Druid
65
Getting started..
So you've decided to forgo the steel and magic path and take up a new one in the likes of claws and nature...or maybe you have chosen to play a druid because of the diversity in roles they can play. If your the type of player who has an attention span the size of a needle head "like me" then playing a hybrid class like a druid would be your most optimum choice. Before we start leveling our druid up we should take a look at some unique features to the class and a look over the attributes and how druids use them.
Forms: Druid forms are the primary spell in a druids aresenal. Of course you start out in your human form "Night Elf form" or Tauren if you are horde, but as you level you will learn how to transform into different things along the way to perform different roles based on your situation. Some forms can not be learned by leveling alone you may need to quest or even place your talents correctly to gain access to new forms.
Bear Form: The first form to be learned as a druid will grant you increased armor value from your items by 125% putting you on par with mail users around your level and also increases your total health by a percentage. You will also gain unique bear only spells such as Maul, a melee damage bonus attack, Bash- an attack that does no damage but stuns the target for 3 seconds or swipe an attack that deals light damage to all enemies nearby.
Main Stats: Stamina/Agility
Aquatic Form: You can gain aquatic form at level 14 by doing a series of quests from your druid trainer. This form has no unique spells but will allow you to breath underwater and increase your swim speed when used.
Cat Form: Your primary melee DPS form. Learned at level 20 cat form will be a staple on your spell sheet when leveling up. Cat only spells such as claw an attack that cost energy to use will do moderate damage and add combo points to your target to use finishing move abilities such as rip, a bleed effect that deals heavy damage over time. Rake another move that does light initial damage but adds another bleed effect to your enemy and also adds a combo point. Cats have access to stealth like rogues and dash that increases movement speed by a large percent for a short period of time.
Main stats. Agility/Strength
Travel Form: Trainable form now at level 20 increases your movement speed by 40%.
Dire Bear Form: Same thing as regular bear form but better! Increases your armor contribution from items by 360% and gives an even bigger health bonus. Puts you on par with plate armor users now.
Main Stats. Stamina/Agility
Moonkin form : Deep in the balance tree lies the secret moonkin or owlkin form, primarily focused by nature and arcane damage moonkin form is your primary caster damage form. Being in moonkin form gives your character a buff increases spell critical strike chance by 5 % and increases your armor by a very large amount. Also using your melee attack while in moonkin form will regenerate your character alot of mana.
Spellpower/Intellect
Tree form: Primary Healing form being in tree form provides a buff for yourself and your raid group increasing healing taken by 6 % modified by talents. Being in tree form also reduces the mana cost of your heal over time spells by 30% but you can only cast helpful spells while in tree form.
Spellpower/Spirit
